Brian Rivera got his first feel of a go-kart in 1993 at
the tender age of 18 driving his fathers friends (Mike)
Formula Y kart in Arizona. Upon his first test drive, he
was very close in times with Mike who was a veteran kart
racer at the time. 5 yrs later (1998) after a successful
military stint in the USMC, he arrived at Desert Park
Raceway to once again race karts. After a brief stint,
he disappeared until re-surfacing in 2006. Brian hasn't
stopped karting since then. He has won locally and
regionally in the IKF. From his Ital Karts, Top Karts
and most recently his FA and Tony Karts, Brian has
dominated the action at the NNKC, most recently winning
his 3rd Club Championship in 5 yrs! His major
accomplishment though lies in not what he has done
behind the wheel, but what he has done for the sport of
karting in Northern Nevada. Brian organized and promoted
the 5th largest IKF 2 Cycle Sprint Grand Nationals in
IKF history with 423 participants at Desert Park
Raceway, putting the NNKC and Reno back on the karting
map. He has been on the Board of Directors for 4
consecutive years which is longer than any other tenured
member in the clubs 29 year history. Brian's motto has
always been: RACE HARD OR GO HOME!
